deBiousse&West was founded in 2026 by Rafaël Biosse Duplan and Haydn West. The gallery is dedicated to presenting Japanese ceramics as autonomous works of art, grounded in conceptual expression and material philosophy.
Through carefully curated exhibitions, research and collaboration with artists, estates and institutions, the gallery positions historic and contemporary ceramics within a broader artistic discourse. Its programme seeks to reveal the intellectual depth, cultural significance and physical presence of these works.
deBiousse&West approaches ceramics through innovative modes of display and curatorial framing, presenting vessels not as isolated artefacts but as objects of enduring artistic relevance.
During our Summer exhibition, The Language Of Glaze: Shimizu Uichi at 100, we will be based at Ladbroke Hall, W10 6AZ. We will be on site most days. Visitors are welcome during gallery opening hours. If you would like to arrange a meeting, please email us in advance.
